We are seeking an energetic and talented State Operations Manager to lead our Victorian Operations. This fast-paced business is a national leader and privately-owned business specialising in Field Sales and Retail marketing.
The role is to provide effective leadership and management at State level to the existing team of four. You will do this by managing the Victorian based team, acting as a 2IC to the General Manager of Operations, whilst maintaining company standards across our Retail customers. This involves responsibility for customer service, operations, delivery and the performance of the region.
Reporting to the General Manager – National Operations, the State Operations Manager - Victoria will achieve this through sound management of the team, meeting agreed KPI's and servicing the Retail customers effectively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSet challenging goals and lead the team toward stretch targets within specific timeframes.Regularly assess performance and have the ability to turn around underperforming regions and stores.Develop long-term strategic business plans that support sustained sales growth and profitability.Collaborate with internal and external partners to drive innovation and stay ahead of industry trends.Promote the learning and development of direct reports – coach and mentor others to build their knowledge and expertise.Align people strategy with business strategy by developing a pipeline of future leaders.Manage budget and comply with internal financial processes and controls using your in-depth knowledge of financial resources to manage assets under your control.Solve difficult problems and create effective and innovative solutions, proactively working with internal and external partners to improve processes and overcome barriers, minimizing current and future issues.Full accountability and responsibility for the management of the VIC operations.Develop a customer service culture within the business to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved, maintained, and exceeded.Ensure communication flows between all levels of the business.Communicate, problem solve, and coordinate service issues, complaints, resolutions, and responses.Review and improve quality of processes.Lead by example and model company values and vision.Demonstrate a strengths-based leadership approach, encouraging and developing others.Work with people and teams to set clear, specific, challenging yet achievable goals.ABOUT YOUAt least 3 years' demonstrated experience in a similar role, with a proven ability to manage within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Experience from a hardware retail/trade retail environment as an Area Manager, Field State Manager, or State Sales Manager.Demonstrated capability to lead and inspire teams to improve organisational efficiency.Ability to provide effective leadership and management at a senior level.Multi-site management of a retail business in specialty, hardware, or trade retail environments.Demonstrated ability to improve customer outcomes and performance standards through on-the-job training and coaching.Ability to manage budgets and control costs to maintain profitability whilst maintaining optimum workforce planning and labour management.Well-developed communication and negotiation skills and the ability to foster and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Strong attention to detail; thrives on rolling up sleeves and getting involved in the day-to-day aspects of the business that demonstrates support and fosters teamwork and collaboration.WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?Generous salary + bonus structure + car allowance + tools of tradePotential for further career opportunities within a stable and prospering national company.A passionate team of colleagues who challenge and support each other while being mentored by senior leaders.To apply, please forward your application and CV through Seek.
