$86,828 (FTE) plus super and salary packagingPermanent Part-time (0.4 FTE) ~ Saturday & Sunday – 11.00am to 7.00pm; Wednesday – 9.00am to 1.00pmBased in City of Bayside, VICSCHADS Level 4 - $86,828 (FTE) plus super and salary packagingRole PurposeThe Program Support Worker is an integral member of the family violence team and supports the provision of a strengths-based and trauma informed response to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) women and young people at Good Shepherd’s emergency accommodation property.This role works closely with the Case Management and Therapeutic teams to support women and young people to achieve their identified goals. This role also provides administrative support to the program and completes other practical tasks to ensure the smooth delivery of service and the running of the accommodation.In this role, the Program Support Worker provides both individual and group support to women and young people.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the co-ordination and facilitation of activities that meet the needs of women and young peopleUndertake activities with women and young people to assist them to meet their case plan goalsAssist with the development of life and living skillsArrange and facilitate access to appointmentsProvide support to the specialist family violence practitioners and the therapeutic teamTransport clients as requiredAssist families through crisis situationsComplete induction for clients, to the site and the local areaProvide a point of contact for general enquiriesLight cleaning duties as requiredPrepare rooms for intakeAbout YouMinimum of Diploma of Community Services or equivalentExcellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate respectfully to all staff and clientsAbility to work as a lone workerAbility to take direction and apply sound judgmentAbility to easily build rapportStrong attention to detailAbility to multitask whilst considering prioritisation of urgent tasksAbility to undertake shift work and flexibility to undertake additional shifts if requiredKnowledge of/training in the MARAM (Multi Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework) beneficialCase or Support work experience, particularly working with families and young people presenting with diverse needs is desirableExperience working in the family violence sector is highly desirableKey Selection CriteriaDemonstrated understanding of a trauma informed approachDemonstrated capacity to have person-centred conversations with a diverse range of peopleAbility to identify and undertake practical tasks, demonstrating flexibility and ability to prioritiseAn ability to work autonomously and independently and also as part of a teamAbout UsOur 2023-2027 strategy outlines the world we want to see and our role in advancing it.
