Legal advice, matter management and support
* Manage complex matters and workstreams independently
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts independently
* Provide legal advice clearly, succinctly and in plain English
* Legal input into projects and cross functional teams
* Support the Head of Legal by assisting with corporate governance matters
* Manage FOI requests and determinations, ensuring compliance with statutory timeframes and effective communication with stakeholders
* Manage legal claims and informal litigious processes
* Monitor changes to relevant legislation and ensure compliance
* Assist AAL managers achieve appropriate levels of compliance
* Direct external lawyers to achieve cost effective solutions for the company
* Develop, maintain and manage professional relationships with AAL’s internal stakeholders to act as a reference point within the business for legal advice

* Develop and review internal legal processes and precedents

Essential
* Bachelor of Laws
* Solicitor 8 years + PQE
* General commercial (or corporate) law experience
Desirable
* Current practicing certificate
* Double degree in finance/commerce/economics, communications, politics, journalism, engineering or related disciplines
* Experience with property, construction law or IT law
* Exposure to aviation issues and/or a demonstrated passion for aviation
