Support teams and develop detailed and accurate resource plans to enable the delivery of the major project with the most appropriate efficient resources. The Project Planner develops and maintains project schedules including detailed and accurate resource plans and forecasts for the duration of the entire major project to ensure that there is sufficient resource allocation and that the project management team are able to make informed decisions in regards to expenditure and project delivery risks. We are looking for a Project Planner/Scheduler to provide support to concurrent projects. This role will assist in developing processes to improve the construction, maintenance system for use in minor and major projects. Reporting to the Senior Planner manager and working a diverse team within asset management team you will be: Develop and maintain project schedules complete with detailed project resources for the duration of the entire major project Develop detailed and accurate resource plans to enable the delivery of the major project with the most appropriate efficient resources. Work with internal stakeholders to optimise and refine schedule until an acceptable outcome is reached. Proactively negotiate deadlines and resource levelling issues within other business units. Proactively work with all contractors to develop and maintain appropriate schedules for inclusion in PPM using programs such as P6 Integrate multiple project schedules into a master program schedule for determining and then executing solutions for managing conflicting schedules. Developing and implementing project scheduling processes and systems, driving and executing associated improvements, and facilitating effective management of projects through accurate reporting. Review contract delivery schedules to ensure appropriate site management and project coordination services are provided. Participate in the tenderer's program evaluation process to ensure that the project's objectives are met Construct, plan and foresee project delivery risks and develop contingencies to project schedule and numerous activities by continually validating the schedule against the overall project objectives Prepare reports/ briefs on project schedule performance Communicate effectively the outcome of the schedule development or update process by presenting targeted and relevant information from the schedule in effective formats - reporting the right information to the right stakeholders at the right time Tertiary qualifications at degree level in engineering/project management or extensive, equivalent relevant experience. Extensive understanding of project management, program administration and reporting in a capital intensive industry. Extensive experience in using and managing MS Project schedules for major projects, preferably in the power industry Subject matter expert in using MS Project to manage Integrated Master Schedule and the supporting detailed schedules Excellent analytical and problem solving skills coupled with an understanding of substations and transmission project requirements Experience with large substation and transmission line projects is desirable.
