With six offices nationally and partner firms in more than 145 markets, wherever you want to go, we can take you there.About this roleA unique opportunity has become available for a National Technical Training Manager to join our collaborative, diverse Tax team.In this newly created dual-role position, you will report to the National Tax Quality and Excellence Lead Partner to oversee, manage and participate in the creation, delivery, and continuous optimisation of technical training to our Tax team (direct and indirect) nationally, ensuring that learning content remains up-to-date, relevant, and tuned into our clients' evolving needs and circumstances.You will also oversee, manage and produce appropriate tax technical materials (internal and client facing) to ensure GTAL remains a tax technical thought leader.This role would ideally suit an individual from a Chartered Accounting ("Big Four" or Mid-Tier National Firm) background with comparable technical and training experience who is looking for a rewarding career development pathway away from client-facing work, in which they can leverage their interest and experience in the Learning and Development (L&D) space.Key responsibilitiesWork closely with senior leaders across our tax service lines, L&D, and other subject matter experts to coordinate delivery of timely and relevant training programs, addressing Tax technical training needs by level and marketWork closely with senior leaders across our tax service lines and other subject matter experts to coordinate identification, creation and delivery of timely and relevant Tax technical thought leadership materials to internal and external stakeholdersManage national technical training schedule and L&D Budget, ensuring training is appropriately delivered and received by relevant stakeholders and providing regular updates on expense trackingCurate and manage a knowledge library to ensure easy access to contemporary training tools by Tax team membersLead national training projects as required, preparing ad hoc project / business initiative reports and status updatesThis position can be based from our Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney offices.Please note that this role may involve some interstate travel to our other GT offices across Australia, up to 2 times per office a year.Skills and experienceA qualified chartered accountant with significant client-facing tax experience (>5 years postgraduate experience), including working knowledge of the Australian taxation regimeExperience (or demonstrated interest in) managing a holistic technical development programAbility to critically analyse technical materials and programs and conduct gap analyses to align with technical competenciesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with key stakeholders on training needsIf you are interested in this role but don't feel that you match every single one of our requirements, we would still love to hear from you and explore the unique skillset and attributes that you can bring to the team.At Grant Thornton we do things differently because we understand that when you strive for better and care about what you do remarkable things are possible.
