Make it your story.This position reports toEngineering & Service Manager TractionYour role and responsibilitiesABB is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to be based onsite in Maryborough, Queensland. In this role, you will be responsible for all Electrical engineering activities, ensuring that all engineering disciplines within the project are executed efficiently and cost-effectively in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. If you have experience in Electrical, Electronics, or Power Electronics engineering within a manufacturing environment, you are encouraged to apply. ABB offers training to the right candidate, allowing you to implement ABB's worldwide best practices locally and make a significant impact on project success.Lead Electrical/Power Engineering projects, applying standard techniques and procedures.Design and develop onboard Traction and Auxiliary Converters and Traction Batteries.Select, qualify, and validate electrical components, support type tests and performance measures.Review electrical schematics, communicate requirements to vendors/customers, and ensure quality standards.Validate electrical deliverables, analyze production processes, and implement productivity solutions.Collaborate with engineering colleagues, share best practices, and participate in project meetings to resolve technical issues.Qualifications for the roleMinimum 5 years of experience in Electrical, Electronics, or Power Electronics engineering.Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering or related field.Proficient in Power Electronics Design, Converter/Inverter Topology, and design calculations/simulations.Skilled in design software (E3 Schematic, MATLAB); knowledge of SAP and Windchill is a plus.Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of quality control/safety standards.Strong communication and teamwork abilities; capable of managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.Nice to have: Traction System Engineering knowledge.Willingness to travel as required (up to 30%).More about usThis unique opportunity on the Fraser Coast, Queensland will help build the local economy while positioning ABB for more opportunities within the Australian Traction industry.
