About the Role:
We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified Chefs, interested in working on our remote mobile camps and villages across South Australia in the Cooper Basin. This role is FIFO from Adelaide to Moomba.
Working either independently or within a small team, our chefs are responsible for running their kitchen and cooking all meals for our remote staff. You will work closely with our camp managers and housekeepers to provide a home away from home. The role is rostered as 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off. You will work the breakfast service (night shift). All accommodation and meals are provided to you while you're on shift.
Please note: The point of hire for this role is Adelaide. The meeting point for this role is Adelaide airport. Candidates from states outside of S.A. will be required to make their own way to Adelaide. Ventia provides flights from Adelaide to Moomba and return upon the completion of your shift.
Duties:
1. Provide high quality, nutritious food to our employees & clients.
2. Manage and run the kitchen autonomously or jointly within a small team.
3. Plan menus, food preparation, cleaning of the kitchen & assisting with ordering.
4. Strict adherence to all HSE policies, procedures & safe food handling practices.
5. Contribute to a high level of customer service.
Skills & Experience:
6. Australian recognised Cert III in Commercial Cookery qualification. (Required. Please attach a copy to your candidate profile)
7. Demonstrated experience in large commercial kitchens. (Required)
8. Valid Australian Drivers licence and confident driving a manual 4WD vehicle. (Required)
9. Sound knowledge of Food Safety Standards, relevant legislation, and statutory obligations.
10. Good communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team.
11. Enthusiasm and commitment to high standards of customer service.
12. The ability to pass a medical, including drug and alcohol tests.
13. Unrestricted Australian work rights.
