The Opportunity
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Paint Finishing Department at our Port Kembla Springhill Manufacturing facility. As part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver innovative products, solutions, and services to our export and domestic customers.
About the Role
As a key member of the Paint Finishing Asset Manager's team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving fixed plant assets within the department. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to enhance operational productivity, achieve asset improvement targets by eliminating defects, maintain automation systems, lead improvement initiatives, and coach team members while minimizing business risks.
Your Responsibilities
* Coach and mentor maintenance team members by identifying and closing technical knowledge gaps.
* Provide automation control systems technical support, advanced problem-solving, and fault-finding.
* Conduct problem-solving and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations to understand critical failures and implement improvement actions.
* Lead and facilitate multi-disciplined teams to identify and implement asset and cost improvement projects.
* Supervise maintenance activities and strive for business improvements and manufacturing excellence.
* Develop, maintain, and improve the maintenance strategy and capital project plans to increase reliability and minimize cost.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
* A commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself, your team, and others.
* Experience working in a similar industry within Electrical Maintenance, with a strong focus on defect elimination and equipment reliability.
* Experience with fault finding PLCs and motor control systems.
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a manufacturing team, influencing peers and colleagues to meet operational requirements, scheduling, and people demands.
