Overview
This role is responsible for scoping and developing detailed technical drawings and managing various types of brand-specific store design projects for each location from inception to completion. A key accountability is the requirement to meet all design related project schedule milestone dates and budget thresholds across the project life cycle through to store opening set up support. Using your exceptional experience in working across functions (Store Construction, Visual Merchandising, Customer Experience, Space Planning and Marketing), you will originate and develop appropriate site-specific design development (DD) packages and solutions for all divisions.
ResponsibilitiesBe the Subject Matter Expert (SME) across all divisions, and accountable for the communication of changes to projects, architectural master sets and global store design brand standards (and updates) to key stakeholders. In addition, the point of contact for project managers on all store design related matters.Manage and chair the weekly design review meetings with cross-functional teams.Present designs to internal design team and internal clients/leadership ensuring consistency of the design concept.Support the education and communication to cross functional team members on new Global Store Design brand specific standards and guidelines.Responsible for the delivery of store layouts and schemes based on project requirements and code issues related to the design concept, as well as direct negotiation with landlords.Adhere to stringent reinvestment strategies ensuring compliance and provide advice and expertise to external stakeholders and in-house entities regarding space planning ensuring brand standards.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Interior or Architectural Design.Minimum five (5) years' experience in retail store design (a global brand is a bonus).Experience developing interior design concepts, preparing working drawings, interior plans and construction documents, and researching fixtures, furniture and equipment options.High Proficiency with AutoCAD and Adobe suite.3D Rendering skills (experience using Sketch Up is a bonus)Ability to hand sketch and clearly markup design drawings.Strong knowledge/understanding/execution with regards to technical skills detailing, engineering and mechanical, electrical & plumbing (MEP).Knowledge of retail codes / legislation / standards to ensure compliance.Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within teams setting a high standard for self and others.Articulate, with highly effective written and verbal communication skills.BenefitsAnnual performance-based bonusA flexible hybrid working environmentExcellent staff discounts on Foot Locker products – Nike, Adidas, ASICS and many more!Free on-site parkingAccess for you and your immediately family to our Employee Assistance ProgramFree access to Wellhub (Gympass)An inclusive and supportive team culture.If this opportunity is of interest to you, click the 'Apply' button below including a cover letter addressing the 'About you' criteria and up-to-date resume.
