Great $$ Your new company Our client is located in the southern coalfields of New South Wales, about 75 kilometres south of Sydney, and includes two underground mines that produce premium-quality, hard coking coal primarily used for steel making. They are a booming business and have a current need for a full-time Electrical Engineer. Your new role Collaborating with maintenance coordinators to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance activities. Leading projects within your area to achieve targeted ROI and KPIs, utilising Asset Management, Projects, and Governance Functions for execution. Coaching, mentoring, and evaluating the performance of electrical staff at the site. Overseeing the operation's equipment, engineering strategies, and master data to align with long-term plans and operational goals, in partnership with the Asset Management function. Ensuring that all electrical engineering activities comply with current Health and Safety Management systems and relevant standards: Develop, oversee, monitor, and review electrical engineering standards and procedures for site operations. Provide guidance on the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems. Ensure that all electrical records are properly documented and filed in accordance with company policies. Stay informed of relevant electrical safety requirements and communicate them to staff. Promptly investigate and report incidents within your area of responsibility, identify electrical hazards, and address them promptly. Participate in risk assessments related to your area of responsibility. Ensure compliance with statutory maintenance requirements. Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to required electrical engineering standards. Maintain and update the plants Electrical Engineering Control Plan. Lead or participate in Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) when necessary. Execute any other directives provided by the company, provided they are safe, reasonable, lawful, and within your skills, experience, and qualifications. Exhibit all competencies and behaviours outlined in the Leadership Accountability Model, and comply with safety-critical risk controls relevant to your work. Adhere to company values, codes of conduct, and behavioural expectations. Demonstrate safe work practices by effectively identifying, reporting, and controlling hazards and risks to minimise incidents and injuries, or escalating where necessary. What you'll need to succeed Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent) Valid Class C Driver's Licence Prior experience in a similar role within mining or heavy industry. Able to scope engineering projects and introduce and/or modify assets and infrastructure. Knowledge of PLCs and networks. Familiar with Australian Electrical Standards and Legislation.
