Teys Australia is seeking a Qualified Mechanical Fitter to join the Beenleigh team. The role will be responsible for maintaining the Beenleigh processing plant and equipment and supporting the day-to-day production requirements of the business. Knowledge of various processing equipment and machinery commonly used in a meat processing plant, including but not limited to, Trade Mechanical Fitting qualificationWelding skills in TIG, MIG and ARCCurrent drivers' licencebelt & chain conveyors, vacuum machines, HPU's, compressors, boilers, pumpsStrong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, along with their components and operations.Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, Pneumatic, and hydraulic faults in a dynamic production environment.Proficient in using a range of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision instruments for maintenance, repairs, and adjustments.Proficient in the use of precision metal shaping equipment, lathes and milling machines.Skilled in interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot and resolve issues.Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders, maintenance schedules, and equipment history.Capable of conducting routine inspections, lubrication, and calibration tasks on machines to identify and correct potential failures before they occur.Strong problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues efficiently and effectively, minimizing equipment downtime.Ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring problems.Thorough understanding of safety protocols and regulatory requirements within the food processing industry.Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for oneself and other team members.Knowledgeable about lockout/tagout procedures and best practices for working on energized equipment.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Basic plumbing experience would be a bonus. Hourly rate: $46.85/hour to $62.07/hour depending on experience and shift being undertaken. Further education is highly regarded, i.e., automation, robotics.
