ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) is seeking applications from experienced, highly motivated and suitable individuals to temporarily fill the position of Senior Director, Strategy, Data and Research (SOGA), within Service Improvement and Community Operations branch of Corrective Services. The Strategy, Data and Research (SDR) Team supports the development and implementation of evidence-based strategies for ACTCS operations through comprehensive data collection/extraction, analysis, evaluation methods and research. The successful candidate will provide oversight of the SDR team ensuring that the delivery of the strategic priorities of ACT Corrective Services are met within agreed timeframes. In addition to the duties detailed in the attached position description, we are specifically seeking a candidate that will take on the leadership and oversight of the following two projects for the duration of the vacancy: Developing a business plan and proposal for the pilot ACT Justice Linked Data Asset. This involves: Strong leadership and stakeholder negotiation skills with agencies in the JACS network, Understanding of data linkage, integration, and analytical capability, and Providing a strategic view of criminal justice research and performance measures. Managing the release process for ACTCS Self-Service Data Capability through PowerBI reporting. This involves: Managing the briefing process and publication and release protocol, Understanding of ACT Gov data governance, PowerBI management, and data sharing policies, and Managing data and reporting products in similar operational environments, with experience in leading and developing innovative data practices. To be successful you will have demonstrated experience in effectively managing and leading a team, with the ability to develop and maintain a positive team environment and to motivate staff working in a high-pressure environment. Experience in one or more of the following would be highly desirable: research, project management, governance (including seeking legal advice), and/or developing business proposals for a data linkage project.
