Job Description Senior Test Quality Engineer - 52621 Permanent Sydney How will I help? Working within Technology, Westpac Institution Banking (WIB) on the highly strategic Cash Management Platform project (W1 Core), the Senior Test Quality Manager plays an important role in ensuring quality across the development of a new portal/api, payments service, data platform and applications for the banks Corporate and Institutional clients. The role will report into the Platform owner and work closely with our partner(s) and down-stream teams ensuring that functional, Integration, performance and resilience testing is world class. You will work with our partner on cost control and continuous improvement and work closely with development and DevOps teams on shifting testing to the left to improve overall quality. Other aspects of the role will include coordinating the multiple shared test environments, and any down-stream system dependencies and you will work closely with the System Integration Manager from a day-to-day delivery focus and the Chief Engineer around continuous improvement. You will be required to work with all vendor test engineers to ensure both delivery and release teams are well supported for ongoing testing needs. On a day-to-day basis, you will collaborate across teams and functions, working with Program Managers, Software Engineers and DevOps Specialists who are collectively driven to provide industry-leading solutions for the bank and its customers. Key deliverables of this role will include: Manage and ensure delivery of testing services is aligned to the project delivery methodology. Apply Payments SME knowledge while evaluating business and technical requirements to bridge gaps if any. Develop Project QA Strategy in alignment with QA Policy. Ensure visibility, traceability, and control of the testing process to deliver as per the business requirements. Understand product/business requirements to ensure a successful project delivery that meets client expectations. Define the team's project-specific responsibilities. Facilitate an effective and collaborative team environment, build strong relationships, coordinate resolution of technically complex problems and issues, and resolve interpersonal conflicts. Develop communication plans, plan, and monitor project schedules to ensure on-time delivery. Understand high-level business, functional and technical solution requirements, and facilitate communication and coordinate discussions that drive decisions at the appropriate stage of the process. Resource planning, resource forecasting, scope assessment, task allocation, providing estimates, writing Test Plan, Test Signoffs, defect reports, change management etc. What do I need? For this position we are looking for someone with experience in core banking application upgrades who has a strong understanding of the complexity. To be successful in this role you should have experience working with test automation tools and systems frequently employed by test engineers such as Selenium, Specflow, JMeter, Appium, TestNG, Unit, nUnit, Cucumber, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Blazemeter, LeanFT, Maven, Splunk. You should have experience working in agile and distributed teams and be an excellent communicator, who is organised, and deadline driven. We are looking for professionals with the following knowledge/skills: Demonstrated ability to lead complex programs of work leading around 30 team members Strong AWS knowledge and understanding of cloud technologies Strong expertise in Payments applications Excellent understanding of STLC Manage the testing effort and/or team to plan, construct and execute release tests. Apply testing methodologies, theories, and processes to define and implement key metrics to manage and assess the testing process including test execution and defect resolution. Understanding of the testing process or methodology. Min 5 years' experience in a similar role Good written and verbal communication skills Familiar with the varied test-program concerns such as test environment and data management, trouble reporting and resolution, etc. Able to perform some hands-on work when required.
