Work with cutting edge technology, making the world a safer and more secure place.DroneShield (ASX:DRO) offers an opportunity to solve some of world's most challenging technical problems in the Electronic Warfare, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, RF sensing, Sensor Fusion and distributed systems.Working with high profile customers across militaries, government agencies, airports, critical infrastructure, law enforcement and many others, in over 70 countries around the world.Be part of a well-funded and agile organisation, as a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team.We have a flat organisational structure, and the best candidates will be both creative lateral thinkers and doers.Our technical pursuits require us to take advantage of the absolute latest in technology and best practices to remain competitive.About the RoleDroneShield is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with an analytical approach to product development, to join the team in Sydney, Australia.The position will report to the Design Engineering Lead and represents a unique opportunity to develop sophisticated leading-edge equipment and technology within the defence space.DroneShield has a strong foundation in design and engineering, with various industry-leading products performing with militaries and government agencies globally.Responsibilities, Duties and ExpectationsContribute to the generation of new product design specifications and mechanical requirements.Develop and execute design verification testing, plans and reports (in-house), followed by managing 3rd party verification testing.Develop and implement ideas utilising CAD and produce manufacturable part and drawing packages.Utilise advanced analysis software and techniques to validate and affirm design decisions throughout the product development lifecycle.Interpret and apply relevant standards to ensure compliance and quality assurance.Liaise with designers, electronics engineers and the NPI and manufacturing team to improve product quality, reliability, and manufacturability.Lease with manufacturers and suppliers.Qualifications, Experience and SkillsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.Minimum 4 years experience in a design/engineering role in a product design environment.Proficiency in software tools - SolidWorks and Ansys.Competency in conducting: FEA, Thermal Analysis, Structural Analysis, Vibration Analysis.Sound understanding of product development and testing for high volume manufacture.Knowledge in design for production processes including machining, sheet metal, and injection moulding.A high level of competency in 3D CAD modelling and creating 2D drawings and specifications.Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.A high level of creativity and able to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.A portfolio showcasing prior work is an advantage.The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, deliver and meet deadlines.Keep yourself up to date with the latest technologies, tools, and methods to be effective in your role.Previous experience working in Defence, medical, aerospace, or consumer electronics is favourable.Australian citizenship is preferred for Baseline and potential NV1 clearance.#J-18808-Ljbffr
