Our client, a gold producer experiencing unparalleled growth and offering exceptional opportunities for their employees, is currently seeking a Senior Underground Planning Engineer to join their new startup project.
Requirements:
1. Tertiary qualification in mining engineering;
2. Excellent leadership and communication skills;
3. Strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations;
4. Skilled in mine planning and scheduling software (Deswik preferred);
5. First Class Mine Managers Certificate, or experience to qualify.
Position Duties:
6. Develop and implement optimum underground development, stope designs and mining methods. Optimise equipment requirements and minimise mining costs;
7. Deliver short, medium and long term mine plans, ensuring consistency to maintain continuity of the mine planning process;
8. Prepare underground mine development and production schedules;
9. Plan and oversee the dewatering system in the mine;
10. Oversee the preparation and optimisation of drill and blast plans;
11. Monitor day to day mining operations to ensure compliance with agreed plans and quality control standards;
12. Undertake ongoing update of underground Life of Mine plan;
13. Examine mining methods and equipment to improve performance;
14. Supervise mining engineers and other technical staff in their day-to-day activities;
15. Provide mine designs and schedules for underground capital and operating cost budgets and forecasts;
16. Review underground mine planning cost reports and address any variances.
