Permanent role Hybrid work environment Play an important role in transforming risk management at our iconic Australian institution About the business/role/team We are seeking a risk professional to join us in a strategic Line 1 role, supporting the Note Issue Department leaders to uplift risk culture and progressively mature our risk management practices. Located within the Business Services Group, the Note Issue department is responsible for producing and issuing Australian banknotes to provide a safe, secure and reliable means of payment and store of value. Reporting to the Manager Risk and Compliance, this newly created role is designed to uplift risk practices in the department to better align with APRA Prudential Standards, including CPS 220, CPS 230 and CPS 234. About the role Provide subject matter expertise, coaching, training and/or guidance to support the Note Issue Department to implement and meet a target uplift in risk management practices. As part of a team of risk professionals, ensure business operations and risk management practices align to the frameworks, policies, standards, risk strategy, regulatory obligations, and risk appetite of the RBA. Provide risk expertise to the Note Issue Department in the identification and assessment of risks to achieve business objectives. Support the Note Issue Department to develop and implement adequate controls to mitigate material risk exposures. Provide subject matter expertise to the risk and control owners in the Note Issue Department to test the effectiveness of key controls. Advise the business to develop credible action plans to return a risk within appetite and/or target residual risk. Provide risk expertise to the department in the identification, logging and management of risks, controls, issues and incidents within the Risk Management System (RMS) to acceptable quality standards, including root cause analysis and remediation for incidents. Support the preparation of reporting and analytics to build awareness and transparency of material risk exposures. Track the remediation of actions to address identified risk and control deficiencies. Ensure the quality of risk data within the RBA’s risk management system by monitoring and reporting on data hygiene Support Departmental Managers to prepare and present papers to relevant Board and Management Committee meetings. About you 7 years' experience in a Line 1 or Line 2 operational risk and compliance roles in an APRA regulated entity, with exposure to CPS 220. Familiarity with CPS 230 is also highly desirable. Understanding of industry frameworks such as ISO 31000, ISO 27001, ISO 22301 etc. Experience in the implementation of risk and compliance frameworks, including coaching, training and development of business stakeholders. Understanding of enterprise-wide risk and compliance management frameworks, policies and standards. Experience in uplifting operational resilience and implementing operational risk management standards in an APRA regulated organisation is highly desirable. Relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, finance, risk, compliance or related discipline, or equivalent working experience. Demonstrated ability to convincingly and credibly communicate risk and compliance-based analysis, information and assessments. Demonstrated negotiation and resolution management skills.
