We’re looking for a Lifestyle Assistant to work in our residential home in The Views, Heidelberg. You will support the implementation of our creative and engaging lifestyle programs. You will play a critical role in helping our residents live their best lives and achieve their personal goals. This is a part-time role working Monday – Friday 75 hours a fortnight.
Some of the ways you’ll make a difference:
o Assist with the provision of recreational and social programs that enhance the well-being of our residents
o Support the Lifestyle Coordinator in the orientation of new team members
o Assist each resident individually in accordance with the lifestyle plan document and ensuring information is recorded accurately
o Ensure all programs meet both residents’ needs and accreditation standards
o Demonstrate an understanding of the cognitive, social and spiritual needs of our residents and their families
o Engage our residents and encourage them to be part of their local community
o Assist with meaningful and enriching activities that provide choice to each person
To help you achieve this, ideally you’ll have:
o Qualification in Community Development, Recreation or Disability Studies (i.e. Certificate IV in Lifestyle and Leisure; a Cert III in Individual Support is also desirable)
o Demonstrated understanding of Leisure and Lifestyle programming and Aged Care Quality Standards
o Proficient in working autonomously and within a team environment
o Empathetic and can build strong connections with residents and their loved ones
o Honest, helpful and dependable - a great asset to the team
