We are recruiting a Senior Project Manager on behalf of a leading Fit-Out contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality commercial, industrial & government projects. My client prides themselves on quality craftsmanship, innovative solutions, and seamless project delivery.
Job Description:
You will oversee the successful delivery of fitout & refurbishment projects valued between $1M–$15M. Working closely with a talented team of professionals, you will manage projects from initial client brief through to final handover, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Planning: Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define project scope, objectives, and timelines. Develop comprehensive project plans, including pre-construction programs, resource allocation, and budgets.
* Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of skilled professionals, including architects, designers, contractors, and subcontractors. Ensure clear communication channels and foster a collaborative work environment.
* Quality Control: Implement strict quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the highest standards are met. Conduct regular inspections and address any issues promptly.
* Budget Management: Monitor project finances, track expenditures, and manage cost-control strategies to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
* Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to avoid any project delays or budget overruns.
* Client Relations: Maintain excellent relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and provide regular project updates. Address any concerns or changes efficiently and professionally.
* Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Requirements:
* 5+ years of experience within the commercial construction industry - ideally in fitout/refurbishments.
* Experience delivering projects from $500K to $15M+
* Competent user of Procore or equivalent
* Qualified in Diploma of Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent
* Experience in subcontractor tender analysis and negotiations
* Ability to effectively forecast and manage project budgets
* Solid knowledge of on-site safety requirements
* Proficient in developing pre-construction programs
* Ability to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget
