QByte Studios is an independent game development studio based in Victoria, Australia. We're currently developing Nanites, a third-person action-builder survival game inspired by Fortnite: Save the World, Lethal Company, and Days Gone.Set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by deadly nanotechnology, Nanites blends immersive storytelling, intense action, and strategic survival gameplay. We're a volunteer-based studio, passionate about delivering high-quality experiences while fostering a fun and collaborative team culture.Role OverviewWe're looking for a talented Environmental 3D Artist to help bring the world of Nanites to life! You'll be responsible for designing and creating immersive environments, ensuring that the world feels rich, atmospheric, and engaging.You'll collaborate with level designers and other artists to craft unique landscapes, structures, and props that enhance the gameplay experience. If you love creating detailed, lived-in worlds and have an eye for composition, lighting, and atmosphere, we'd love to hear from you!What You'll Be Doing:Creating high-quality 3D environmental assets, including landscapes, architecture, and props.Optimizing assets for performance while maintaining visual fidelity.Collaborating with level designers to ensure environments support gameplay.Implementing assets into Unreal Engine 5 and ensuring they integrate well with lighting and materials.Maintaining a consistent art style aligned with Nanites' visual direction.What We're Looking For:Experience with Unreal Engine 5 and environmental asset creation.Proficiency in Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, or similar 3D modeling software.Strong understanding of composition, lighting, and materials.Ability to optimize assets for performance.Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Comfortable signing a volunteer agreement (legal stuff, you know how it is).Bonus Points (Not Required, but Nice to Have):Experience with procedural asset generation (Houdini, SpeedTree, etc.).Familiarity with Fortnite: Save the World and post-apocalyptic themes.Skills in texturing software like Substance Painter/Designer.Experience with version control systems like Diversion.Forget Boring Interviews – We Play Games Instead!We hate stiff, corporate-style interviews.
