The Role
As the Air Warfare Centre (AWC) Communication & Information Systems (CIS) Capability Manager, you will formulate requirements, plan and manage the delivery of CIS capability functions for the AWC.
These functions include:
* Representing AWC CIS capability manager interests across sustainment/enabling agencies and upwards into Headquarters Air Command.
* Providing guidance to AWC capability managers and sustainment agencies to ensure ongoing and appropriate management of the CIS aspects of AWC systems.
* Lead AWC CIS requirements analysis and definition in support of AWC Statements of Need (SONs), Minor/Major projects and other futures activities within AWC.
* You will engage with stakeholders across the AWC to identify and scope contributions to AWC activities, develop work plans to deliver the required artefacts and ensure that your outputs align with strategic objectives.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. Our Ideal Candidate
* You will have the qualifications, knowledge and experience to; effectively deliver Communication and Information System (CIS) capability functions for the AWC.
* You will understand and have experience with Defence CIS capabilities and management systems, or similar systems.
* You will have demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to perform planning, scope definition, and delivery management, identification of risks and resolution of issues.
* You will have experience with innovation activities or other creative endeavors.
* You will be able to achieve and maintain a security clearance that enables you to handle the highest levels of classified information.
* Your oral and written communication skills will be highly developed, including the ability to prepare and deliver concise briefings as well as reports that are more complex.
* You will also be capable of providing high quality advice to military executives and staff.
