1. Full-time fixed-term position with immediate start through to end of 2025
2. Base salary will be in the range $64,963.44 - $71,505.71 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 3)
3. Based at Campus with occasional travel to St Lucia when required
About This Opportunity
This position provides a range of technical and specialist skills and services, which support the work of the Research Team on various projects related to breeding, physiology and agronomy of rice.
Key responsibilities include:
4. Technical capabilities in the conduct of scientifically sound data collection procedures.
5. Contribute to the safe and efficient operations of research equipment, infrastructure, methodologies and protocols
6. Foundational knowledge of management of glasshouse and field experiments
7. Experience using plant physiology equipment and methodologies
8. Assist in the development of research documentation and administrative processes
9. Prepare basic graphs and figures for presentations and manuscripts
10. Provide general research support, including ordering and maintaining consumables
11. Actively participate in research group meetings

About You
21. Completion of a Year Twelve or Diploma qualification, or a Certificate IV with relevant work experience; or Completion of a post-trades certificate and relevant experience and on the job training; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
22. Foundational knowledge of management of glasshouse and field experiments.
23. An understanding of the conduct of scientifically sound data collection procedures.
24. Computer and database literacy skills including the Microsoft Office suite.
25. High level inter-personal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
26. Commitment to excellence and an ability to work diligently with a high level of accuracy
27. Knowledge of relevant occupational health and safety
