About the Role
Based at our Global Headquarters in Adelaide, the Principal Treasury Adviser provides strategic support and meticulous attention to detail to enhance the Treasury function.
The Principal Treasury Adviser will drive optimal outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of risk management, compliance, and responsiveness in a dynamic operational landscape, aligned with Santos values and the Santos Management System (SMS)
Key accountabilities include:
1. Providing strategic advice and support including evaluation of long term borrowing strategies and preparation of recommendations in relation to capital management and liquidity
2. Leading the negotiation, execution and management of activities related to credit agreements including bank loans, bank guarantees and fixed income debt issuance
3. Credit rating agency management, including preparation for annual rating reviews. Monitoring of credit rating metrics and reviewing published results from the rating agencies
4. Reviewing commercial agreements and preparation of Treasury counterparty risk analysis
5. Delivering credit risk management including monitoring of existing exposures, evaluation of new or potential exposures, limit management and reporting
6. Overseeing administration of Treasury management system (Reval) and transactional banking platform(s) including establishment and continued improvement
7. Intercompany loans – ensuring loan agreements are current and assisting with preparation of new agreements
8. Assisting with delivery of all other Treasury function activities as required and/or directed including functional support for business unit activities and growth projects
About You You should possess substantial expertise in treasury, banking, or finance, along with outstanding strategic thinking and advisory abilities.
Your ability to strategically engage and deliver results, exemplified by your proficiency in report writing at CFO level, underscores not just your proactive initiative but also your steadfast commitment to providing comprehensive and astute analysis and guidance.
Experience Essential:
9. Significant experience in a treasury, banking or financial background
10. Experience in debt instruments and/or market risk management
11. Demonstrable ability to write professional and highly detailed briefs
Desirable:
12. Experience working in an oil and gas company or financial institution
13. Experience with Project Finance
Qualifications
14. Tertiary/degree qualified in Finance, Economics and/or Accounting
15. CA/CPA/CFA qualified
