Peter Mac boasts a comprehensive range of imaging, planning and treatment equipment distributed across five campuses; four metropolitan and one regional. This includes 7 Phillips Brilliance Big Bore CT scanners with 4D imaging capability, PET-CT scanner, 16 linear accelerators (15 Varian TrueBeams with advanced imaging capabilities and one Clinac), and a cloud-hosted, hospital-wide Varian Eclipse treatment planning system. We also support a variety of brachytherapy techniques.
Currently we have an opportunity to employ a campus lead physicist for our Bendigo campus. Bendigo is a thriving regional hub with all major amenities and a rich history (https://www.bendigo.vic.gov.au/)
The Bendigo team consists of 3 permanent physicists and 1 medical physics registrar. Additional support for radiation safety, imaging and research is provided from the main campus in Melbourne. The lead role is responsible for physics operations for the site and is a core member of the campus-wide physics management team. The Physical Sciences’ department engages in a broad range of initiatives with each campus leading or participating in campus wide activities which sees most staff visit other campuses up to 10 days per year.
The ideal applicant will have technical and people leadership experience along with a desire to work with clinicians and explore opportunities for service development for regional and rural patients.
