AWS Data Center APJC Construction Program team is seeking a highly enthusiastic, motivated, and customer-facing Program Manager to innovate, develop and manage a project dashboard to enable the BI reporting at the project and program level to provide visibility on time and cost leading indicators.
The Program Manager will create new programs that improve our efficiency in the high volume and fast-paced delivery environment.
This role requires strong Business Intelligence experience and skills, effectively communicating with managers, peers, and team members, both within their immediate department, as well as with other departments and business partners to drive effective and sustainable dashboard reporting and provide accurate analysis summaries to inform leadership on business decisions.
This Program Manager is an individual contributor reporting to the APJC Construction Program Lead.
You will work within a diverse and creative team solving fascinating problems constructing AWS Data Centers.
You will support the APJC Construction Program Lead and work with SMEs and Construction Managers delivering data center capacity to support Amazon's growth in the APJC region.
This Program Manager will be responsible for ensuring the Construction team adopts consistent and scalable approaches and processes in APJC Construction.
Managing the use of Procore, preconstruction services, schedule, and commercial aligns with other sub-regions in APJC.
The Construction Program team will provide centralized support and metrics tracking functions to Construction Managers on preconstruction services, project controls (time, cost, quality, and safety), administration tasks, systems, programs, processes, SOPs, templates, and dashboards.
Key job responsibilities:
Developing, maintaining, and updating the documentation management system for Construction including documents for due diligence, design, tender, construction, and project closeout.Working with Construction Managers to ensure the consistent implementation of systems, processes, and templates during construction and project closeout.Identifying gaps and creating processes to drive efficiencies and reduce levels of effort (LOEs) on repeating and overlapping works, eliminate non-value-add activities, remove blockers, and drive automation.Gathering data across clusters to support reporting, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, and risk management, reporting, and metric development/tracking.Creating and delivering training and onboarding programs on key knowledge and tools to Construction.Building metrics for KPI reporting to drive better performance internally and externally.Developing Contract Strategies with Construction Managers to create a mapping of when and how each strategy should be deployed to upcoming projects.Documenting and laying out the different supply chain and delivery strategies, and scaling them to other clusters in the region.Checking documents for accuracy and contract compliance.Training and assisting employees with accessing documents through our document management system.Assisting in project closeouts, archiving, processing, and filing activities.Providing coordination of all engineering and architectural specifications, design drawings, and permit submittals for projects.Supporting construction managers to prepare complete and accurate documentation for construction handoff, including but not limited to contacts, drawings, specifications, scopes of work.Maintaining a repository for all construction work products by site.
Ensuring all documents are uploaded correctly.Confirming that all Operations & Maintenance Manuals are provided to the owner by the contractor.Reviewing all warranties including full information on warranty status, terms, and contact information. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.7+ years construction management experience, with project control capability in cost, schedule, or documentation control for large commercial, mission-critical, or industrial projects.7+ years of general contractor and vendor management experience (request for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, RFI/submittal tracking) associated with construction and project execution.Experience with managing documents in various types of office software including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS MBA, or Master's degree, Project and/or portfolio management accreditation, such as PMP, Prince2.Experience directly related to program delivery / PMO and coordination.Experience working with Procore, Power BI, Quicksight, Smartsheet, SQL, and dashboard reporting.Experience working with collaborative management systems.Experience using file sharing sites for document posting, uploading, downloading, and manipulation.Knowledge of the scope and construction life cycle sequencing of project schedules.Able to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings for all disciplines.
