Your role at St John of God Bunbury Hospital The Grade 1 Dietitian works alongside the Multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical nutrition and dietetic services to clients/patients using evidence based clinical practice skills. Ensures practice is in accordance to the Dietitians Australia (DA) Professional Standards and Code of Conduct and SJGHC policies and guidelines. The Position Provide direct nutrition and dietetic service to patients/clients and/or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and/or outpatients. Coordinate the provision of special dietary requirements of patients. Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division, and external agencies, as appropriate. Use nutritional knowledge to act as a consultant to the hospital catering service to inform menu development and compliance with the relevant hospital Nutritional standards. Document patients' medical nutrition therapy in the approved manner. Participate in multidisciplinary activities e.g. team meetings, ward rounds, or case conferences, as required. Participate in the delivery of education programmes within the dietetics service and for other caregiver groups within the Division. Develop and review dietary education resources. Participate in other hospital activities as assigned. Supervise, instruct and assess dietetic students in approved clinical teaching programs in liaison with the Supervisor/Manager. You will possess a tertiary qualification in Dietetics and be eligible for full membership with Dietitians Australia (DA) (formerly known as Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA)) and evidence of Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status. To succeed you will have demonstrated ability to appropriately apply Evidenced Based Practice and dietetic knowledge to patient/client management. Furthermore, you will have the ability to communicate effectively and work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment and have well-developed organisation and time management skills.
