We are a supportive team who like to share knowledge.Our factory is located centrally in Dubbo NSW. The role is an indoor role at the factory.Job tasks and responsibilities Steel store and saws, cutting of metal bar for cylinder components using both CNC saw and band saw.Operating overhead crane and forklift to move and position material.Assemble and test hydraulic cylinders as required. The mix of cutting, assembly or testing can vary from day to day.Our cylinders are assembled from components we manufacture in our Dubbo factory - barrels, rods, pistons and glands, the material is cut in house to manufacture these components.They are assembled together, and with the help of elastomeric seals, become oil tight. These complete cylinders are then tested for leaks with hydraulic oil, after which they are cleaned and painted with a two pack paint. Hydraulic cylinders are heavy and can be large. Whilst we provide lifting and handling equipment, the successful candidate will need to be physically fit. The finished quality of our product is only as good as the standard of work performed at each stage.Pride in workmanship essential.Skills and experience The role is a trades assistant role, however applicants with fitting or mechanical trade will be highly regarded.Cylinder repair experience and understanding of hydraulic sealing and systems is an advantage.Previous manual handling knowledge would be an advantage.Ideally suited for a physically fit robust applicant that enjoys physical activity.The work is precise, ability to read fairly simple engineering drawings, basic measuring equipment, hand tools, follow instructions and check lists is critical.Forklift licence preferred, however support in gaining current licence may be offered.Remuneration would be reviewed inline with skills and experience. Benefits and our Culture The position is a permanent full time position based at our factory in Dubbo, our normal work days are Monday to Friday. There is some overtime available from time to time.
