Clinical Data Analyst Role
The Clinical Data Analyst is a mid-level individual contributor position that supports the Data Sciences department in identifying requirements and building solutions to enhance clinical study data reporting and analytics capabilities. This role will support the development of advanced analytical solutions, better serving internal and external stakeholders' needs in summarizing clinical study data.
Reporting Standards Management
* Develop a standard library of reporting and/or analysis solutions for Data Sciences and other stakeholders.
* Determine requirements from a cross-functional group to address a specific study question or operational activity; build and configure solutions to meet those requirements.
* Lead validation activities to prepare reporting solutions for release.
* Collaborate with stakeholders as needed to support validation activities.
* Contribute to the Data Standards Governance Committee for managing standard reports and maintaining ongoing updates to standard report templates.
* Support training for the Data Sciences team on new standard reports/solutions.
Study-Specific Reporting Deployment
* Create ad hoc reporting and/or analysis solutions as requested by study team members.
* Deploy standard reporting solutions for use on a study-specific basis.
* Gather requirements from study team members for ad hoc solutions; build and configure solutions to meet those requirements.
* Support report requestors in validation activities of study-specific ad hoc solutions.
* Long-term maintain study-specific solutions and investigate issues raised by study team members.
Department Operational and Performance Analysis
* Determine requirements with Data Sciences leaders to measure and monitor operational and performance metrics.
* Design, build, and maintain metrics governance within Data Sciences.
* Analyze operational and study data to deliver reporting outlining areas for process and performance improvement/optimization.
Technical Systems
* Participate in the strategy, management, and integration of data reporting systems impacting Data Sciences.
* Serve as a technical system subject matter expert, performing validation and testing of systems.
* Determine requirements for relevant technical systems with cross-functional groups or other business/process analysts.
* Evaluate ways to further leverage existing systems to optimize internal efficiencies and processes.
* Support Data Sciences contribution to a Data Warehouse, contributing to key decisions and strategy.
* Evaluate new projects or requests for enhancements, determining project cost, timeline, goals, and feasibility, and supporting the project through completion.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Undergraduate degree (Bachelor/Honours Bachelor) with 2-3 years relevant experience, including experience or exposure to clinical trials.
Required Skills:
* Data visualization and data visualization tools experience.
* Prior experience in an analyst, report development, or business intelligence (BI) roles.
Preferred Skills:
* Excellent communication skills and continuous improvement mindset.
* Data transformation (ETL: Extract, Transform, Load) experience.
* Programming experience in R, SAS, SQL, Python, etc.
* SAS experience (SAS Visual Statistics, SAS Visual Analytics, or SAS VIYA).
