We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Development Director to lead our NSW Logistics development team. In this role, you will support the growth of Stockland’s Logistics portfolio and deliver on our wider group strategy.
Now is an exciting time to join Stockland’s logistics team as we progress $1.1bn in active development of the current $6.5bn pipeline in logistics.
The Opportunity
In this role you will lead the NSW Development team by drive strong engagement within multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders to ensure support for the project’s vision and outcomes to profit return benchmarks.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
1. Ensure superior business financial performance by driving highest and best use outcomes in mixed use investment opportunities
2. Demonstrate a culture of cross-divisional collaboration to maximise overall profitability by leveraging Stockland’s sectoral and mixed use capabilities
3. Identify, develop and implement processes and systems to standardise and simplify bid processes within the mixed use team and across the business
4. Identify, support and evaluate new business and acquisition opportunities by collaborating with both the Business Development and Apartments teams
5. Ensure opportunities are scoped, designed and modelled to achieve required profitability
6. Ensure required profitability levels are achieved for project operations incorporating development and long term planning for retail, office and industrial assets through the development of a sustainable pipeline and effective management of financial performance and risks for the current portfolio of projects.
7. Ensure the project teams are well connected within the political arena, the industry and the broader community to achieve required business outcomes and in a manner that enhances the image and reputation of Stockland.
8. Ensure project portfolio risks are identified / regularly reviewed and strategies are in place and promptly implemented to mitigate them and minimise their impact.
9. Lead the project team, fostering close integration of the disciplines including sales, marketing, and design in a manner that maximises Divisional outcomes.
10. Build the team’s capability by nurturing and retaining talent and creating a diverse and supportive environment where people excel.
11. Ensure effective collaboration with other areas of the business (i.e. Investment Management, Finance, Leasing, HR), both within the Development group and more broadly at Stockland.
12. Ensure all Operational Risk processes are properly implemented within area of responsibility.
About You:
We are seeking a driven leader with an extensive track record managing multiple Industrial/Logistics projects. It is important that you have a strong technical understanding of delivery methods.
13. As a strategic thinker your will have a value-add mindset and significant experience with managing multi-disciplinary teams
14. You believe a strong customer focus is a key consideration in all aspects of the development process
15. Proven experience managing multiple projects or a portfolio of projects
16. Proven commercial acumen, including site assessment, planning, and feasibility analysis
17. Track record of achieving results through influencing and relationship skills
