This role is ideal for:TAFE-qualified Electronics Technicians looking to launch their careers.Graduate Engineers or PhD-qualified candidates in Physics or Engineering who are “between jobs” and seeking hands-on, impactful work.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder direction, you will: Assist in the specification, acquisition, and setup of sensors and data acquisition systems, including the design, construction, and testing of equipment. Develop data acquisition protocols and contribute to the experimental design of trials. Set up and operate high-speed photo instrumentation equipment and support the analysis and interpretation of imagery data. Participate in experiments and trials with energetic materials across laboratories, outdoor ranges, and specialist testing facilities. Assist in the interpretation and reporting of data captured during weapons and explosives trials using knowledge of sensors and data systems. Perform equipment and laboratory maintenance, including calibration of electronic and sensor systems. Who We’re Looking ForWe’re seeking candidates with: Vocational qualifications (TAFE) or a tertiary degree in electronics, physics, or engineering. Strong interest in R&D, instrumentation, and sensor systems. Hands-on experience or understanding of electronic systems, data acquisition, or high-speed instrumentation. Australian citizenship (mandatory, due to Defence security requirements). This role would suit: Early-career professionals or recent graduates.
