The Role31/42 Royal Queensland Regiment is seeking applications for the role of Logistic Officer APS Level 4 in the unit Q Store at Lavarack Barracks Townsville QLD.
The role will involve work within a small team to assist with logistics support and management of the unit Q Store and Warehouse equipment, general stores and consumables using Defence logistic information systems.
There is a requirement to liaise with internal and external organisations, schedule maintenance and repairs, and transact receipts and issues.
The role will work within Defence procedures, which include the procedures for storage and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
Assist with the implementation of policy and process changes in accordance with current guidelines and legislation.
Contribute to logistics inventory management with information management systems and responding to inventory requests.
Within the Logistics Management function, an APS 4 Logistics Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex logistics inventory management work within an integrated workforce.
APS 4 Role includes:Ensure that all governance tasks are maintained and up-to-date.Perform Board of surveys for disposals and stores adjustments in accordance with the Defence policy.Organise and maintain equipment loans as required in conjunction with other Defence Logistic units.Have a good understanding of and compliance with relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and Defence's mission and policy requirements.Organise their workflow, make decisions within their defined parameters relating to area of responsibility, and seek guidance when required.Exercise some discretion with respect to how legislation, procedures and guidelines are interpreted and applied to their work.Provide administrative support that is informed and directed by their knowledge of the Logistics Management function.Undertake some research and analysis activities.Share information, monitor work practices, set work priorities and develop local procedures.Coordinate and support the leadership team, providing coaching and on-the-job training for newer and less experienced team members.Communicate with, respond and provide advice to a range of stakeholders on moderately complex operational and administrative issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.Contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.Undertake the physical movement of stores (including offsite and onsite deliveries/pickups) utilising forklifts and/or manual handling equipment.About our Team31/42 RQR mission is to generate Combat capability IOT contribute to 11 Brigade capability outputs.
Our Ideal CandidateThe duties of an APS 4 Logistics Officer occupation in Defence include the following (note: not all duties are required to be performed during a 12-month performance cycle):
Coordinate and support governance duties on logistics inventory management activities in accordance with the business management system.Coordinate logistics inventory management with information management systems and respond to inventory requests.Compose responses to correspondence, briefs and reports on logistics inventory management activities.Provide advice on logistics inventory management to stakeholders.Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in teamwork and group activities.Work collaboratively and operate as an effective team member.Recommend solutions to issues influencing the achievement of desired outcomes.Interpret and comply with logistics legislation, policy and regulatory frameworks.Allocate work, resources and tasks and set work area priorities to meet work area outcomes.Experience in the Logistics sector.Good written and verbal communications skills with the ability to work with all rank levels.Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external agencies.Good computer skills, particularly in spreadsheet and logistics management software.Experience in warehouse management and the ability to maintain a small local warehouse.Ability to interpret and comply with logistics legislation, policy and regulatory frameworks.NotesSecurity Clearance: Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Baseline Vetting" level.
