You will be enthusiastic about working with young people and their families with complex needs, enjoys advocating for young people and families, and responding to their support needs. You will have: A tertiary qualification in Human Services, Social Work or similar with at least 2 years' experience OR at least five (5) years' work experience in similar rolesPossession of a "C" class Driver's LicencePossession of a Working with Children Blue card Australian citizenship or permanent residency or a visa which allows you to work as advertised You will be able to demonstrate High level of interpersonal skills, oral communication and advocacy skillsAbility to work with young people with complex needs and their familiesSound understanding of attachment theory, the impacts of trauma at a child and family level, strengths based practice and a commitment to social justice principlesAbility to work flexibly and innovatively in response to the support needs of young people and their families, and contribute to assessments and client centred case plansCultural capability, particularly in engaging and working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, families and communities; peoples of ethnically diverse background; and a demonstrated understanding of working appropriately with LGBTIQ+ young people; and young people with a disabilityAbility to work with minimal supervision, be self-motivated and manage own time efficientlyAbility to work collaboratively with team members and external stakeholdersExcellent record keeping skills and proven competence using computer programs and databases (Word, Excel)Commitment to YAC's values and social justice principles A bit about the role Provide flexible, integrated, and practical mobile support to young people in the geographic area.Work closely under the direction of Family Partnership Case Workers to provide information, referral and undertake solution focused interventions to respond to support needs as identified by the young people and their families.Contribute to needs assessment, supported referrals and effective implementation of case planning responses that are innovative, coordinated, and holistic.Be a strong advocate for young people and their families.Appropriately utilise brokerage funds.Undertake all administrative recording and reporting tasks.Regular and ongoing communication with the Family Partnership Case Workers and Families Coordinator.Work with young people to ensure their basic needs are being met.
