Kingston Soldier's Memorial Hospital is seeking dedicated Direct Care Workers to join our Residential Care Home team.
About the Role: As a Direct Care Worker (Residential), you will play a vital role in delivering direct client services to our residents. You will work under the supervision of the Nurse Unit Manager and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of health professionals to ensure our residents receive compassionate and comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities: Assist residents with daily living activities, including:Bed making and maintaining cleanlinessBathing, showering, personal hygiene, and groomingToileting and continence managementMobility support and the safe use of mechanical aidsCommunication assistance with aids (e.g., glasses and hearing aids)Distribution of clean laundry and personal attireCleaning of equipment and maintaining a tidy environmentTransportation of clients within the facilitySupport for residents with special needs (e.g., pressure care)Contribute to client assessments and assist with medication self-administration under medical authorityHelp with routine treatments and proceduresWhat We're Looking For: Strong team player with effective interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.Proven track record of meeting deadlines and timeframes.Discretion and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.Capability to perform general tasks under supervision.Experience exercising judgment and initiative in daily tasks.Proficiency in using computer software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.Commitment to customer service principles and best practices.Understanding of the Occupational Health, Safety, and Welfare Act, along with Risk Management principles.Why Join Us?
