Reporting to the Supervisor Port Maintenance Execution at BMA Hay Point Terminal, as a Terminal Maintenance Tradesperson you will be responsible for performing maintenance activities for weekly and long-term maintenance of the Dump Station, Stacker Reclaimers, Shiploaders, and ancillary equipment, as well as shutdown maintenance and providing planning input to ensure the safe achievement of department objectives.
These roles are based in the Mackay Region at the BMA Hay Point Coal Terminal Site, working either dayshift (4/3 Day Only roster) or a day/night shift roster. There is no FIFO at this site.
We currently have multiple opportunities available for the below Trade Qualified maintenance professionals:
Mechanical Fitters – Fixed plant
In this role you will:
1. Comply with and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day.
2. Assist with any planned maintenance and complete tasks in a timely manner.
3. Provide trade skills to perform unplanned or breakdown maintenance across all areas of Hay Point operations.
4. Work with your team to a high level of accountability and be able to build proactive team relationships.
5. Provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor on job progress.
About You
* To be successful in this role you will have a relevant trade qualification - Mechanical Fitter.
* Proven maintenance experience in Fixed Plant maintenance.
* Your active focus on safety, drive, and passion to improve will see you succeed in this role.
* Your people and communication skills are of utmost importance, as well as your relationship skills when liaising, negotiating, and influencing a range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Previous experience with 1SAP will be beneficial.
* The nature of the role requires you to be a forward thinker and focused on process discipline.
* A background in planned maintenance teams with an overriding safety focus will be critical to your success in this position.
The following qualifications and skillsets are desirable for success in the role:
* Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way.
* Solid time management skills and the ability to prioritise.
* Experience with Fixed Plant or materials handling/processing.
