As a world leader in the design and manufacture of "on-the-move" satellite communication terminals, we are offering an exciting and innovative workplace with a talented workforce.We are currently seeking an experienced individual who will be responsible for the compliance of our product range which includes RF and electrical safety, environmental, mechanical and EMC/EMI standards.This role will involve direct interactions with the Commonwealth of Australia; therefore applicants must be Australian citizens.Duties and responsibilities:Testing products including compliance and pre-compliance to international and military standards for commercial, aerospace and military applicationsEMC/EMI Testing to MIL-STD-461G (Military); IEC6100 (Commercial); RTCA DO-160G (Aerospace) of products and larger systemsEnvironmental and mechanical testing to MIL-STD-810 and RTCA DO-160G of products and larger systemsManage test schedules and write detailed test plans, procedures and performance reportsWork with customers such as Commonwealth of Australia on compliance testing and documentation issuesWork closely with the Programmes Validation & Verification teamAssist the Programmes team with customer/program related issuesResponsible for all compliance testing equipment maintenance and calibrationDevelop guidelines for EMC/EMI as well as environmental guidelines for product developmentWork with RF and mechanical engineers to achieve design objectives to meet compliance standardsProvide introduction of new products support to the Manufacturing teamInterstate travel will be required from time to time to conduct testing at accredited test housesCore skills and competencies:Knowledge of commercial and EMC/EMI standards such as MIL-STD-461GKnowledge of commercial and military environmental standards such as MIL-STD-810A good understanding of electronic circuits especially EMI minimisation techniquesKnowledge of RF and microwave principles and practiceProven ability to plan and manage verification and validation (V&V) testing routinesAbility to troubleshoot products failing compliance testing (on site or off site)Exceptional time management and attention to detail skillsWork cooperatively in a team environmentAnalytical and problem-solving capabilitiesStrong written communication and interpersonal skillsDegree in engineering discipline preferably Electrical or Electronics is preferred but not essentialExperience using RF test instruments and other EMC lab equipment (e.g. spectrum analyser, VNA, signal generator, oscilloscopes, antennas)Minimum 2 years’ experience in compliance testing and documentationPossession of, or the ability to qualify for, an Australian defence security clearance (baseline minimum, NV1 preferred)As part of the recruitment process, candidates will be required to confirm their right to work in Australia (must be Australian citizenship) and successfully complete pre-employment checks (professional references, police clearance, proof of qualifications and ITAR screening).EM Solutions does not accept unsolicited resumes/candidate profiles from external agencies or suppliers via any method.Your application will include the following questions:How many years' experience do you have as a Testing Engineer?Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?To help fast track investigation, please include here any other relevant details that prompted you to report this job ad as fraudulent / misleading / discriminatory.
