The Opportunity The role: Pricing Analyst Are you passionate about pricing strategies and data analysis? We are seeking a dedicated Pricing Analyst to join our team in either Sydney or Melbourne. In this role, you will support the Pricing Manager(s) with ongoing tactical pricing opportunities and undertake data analysis to produce basic financial models that aid in day-to-day pricing decisions at both client and matter levels. You will also assist lawyers in building pricing plans using the firm's tools and support the legal teams in Australia to comply with our global pricing approval process. Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for: Supporting the Pricing Manager(s), Australia with day-to-day functions, including: Assisting the pricing team in working with internal clients to develop commercially focussed solutions to pricing requests Client financial portfolio analysis to monitor performance and identify areas of concern or opportunity Reviewing existing client fee arrangements to identify opportunities for enhancing current and future financial performance Tactical pricing support for the business for tenders and other opportunities Undertaking financial modelling and scenario analysis to support informed decision making and explain/present results to all levels of seniority Proactive analysis of data to better understand expected costs of defined matter types Supporting the pricing team in managing the firm's pricing approval process requests across Australia Assisting on key operational improvement projects Supporting the pricing team in the development of financial models either for specific pricing scenarios or in the development of automated models for use within the business Supporting the pricing managers in planning and implementation of regular pricing processes in the Australia business, such as annual rate reviews and communication of rate increases Assisting the team in developing metrics and reporting tools to analyse and clearly illustrate trends of matter performance. Act as a trusted adviser for Partners, fee earners and CRM's when they are making pricing decisions Maintaining and developing pricing databases that support effective pricing decision making Supporting Legal Project Managers, where required, in proactively monitoring matter budgets and work scopes against actual performance and preparation of milestone/post matter analysis Complying with WHS obligations and responsibilities in accordance with the requirements for this role as set out in legislation and the firms' policies and procedures. To be successful in this position you will have: Appropriate undergraduate/post graduate degree qualification Understanding of business economics Extremely numerate, with the proven ability to convert complex/raw data into concise and actionable intelligence Excellent Excel skills and the ability to work confidently within other Microsoft office 365 products (PowerPoint, Word and SharePoint) Ability to build relationships and influence Ideally, experience of working in a financial role in a law firm or professional services environment Experience of using a Financial Practice Management System (e.g. Elite or Aderant Expert) or Power BI would be beneficial but is not a pre-requisite What you can expect from us: We’re a world leading international law firm with a global team of over 5,000 professionals.
