Wagga Wagga City Council has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join our Information and Communications Technology team!

Your new role:
In the role of Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, virtualization, and various cloud-based services, such as Microsoft Azure / Office 365, as well as assist with the operation of Council’s network infrastructure.
This role will have a strong focus on improving the organisation's cyber security environment and maturity through the implementation, management and monitoring of security related systems relating to Council’s server infrastructure.
The position will be responsible for:
* Provide expertise to identify and implement technology related enhancements and opportunities, with a particular focus on server infrastructure, systems, and cyber security.
* Oversee Council’s Cyber Security strategy and Implementation Plan, ensuring systems and processes are secure, regularly audited and reviewed in line with the evolving threat landscape.
* Provide Level 3 helpdesk support services where required, utilising ITIL Framework best practices to ensure services are reliable, robust, effective, and efficient.
* Assist the Information Technology Coordinator to develop and implement IT plans and strategies to meet business needs, including Council's IT disaster recovery plan.
* Provide on call after hours support for IT emergencies as part of a rotating roster.
What you will need to succeed:
The successful applicant will have:
* Tertiary qualifications such as Bachelor of Information Technology or Project Management and/or extensive experience relevant to the role.
* Minimum three (3) years demonstrated work experience relevant to the role.
* Highly developed communication, interpersonal and administrative skills.
* An ability to work effectively within a team and independently to meet deadlines is essential.
* Experience with Veeam Windows backups and Microsoft Intune would be highly regarded but not essential.
