The ClientCarrington Plastic Bags based in Reservoir, Victoria have been supplying their customers for over 42 years with Recycled plastic bags.They are looking a full time Plastic Technician (Night Shift) for their centre in Reservoir, VIC.The RoleThis is for a full time role with an annual salary set at $94,640 plus superannuation and will be based at their Reservoir, VIC location.Duties will include:Prepare and configure plastic manufacturing machines for production runs, ensuring proper alignment and calibrationModify machine settings to achieve optimal product quality and meet production specificationsIdentify and resolve mechanical or operational issues in plastic manufacturing equipmentPerform minor and major repairs on machinery to ensure consistent production efficiencyInspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specificationsConduct routine maintenance on equipment to prevent downtime and extend machine lifeObserve machines during operation to detect unusual noises, overheating, or malfunctionsLoad recycled plastic materials into machines and ensure the proper blend of raw materialsReplace and adjust moulds, dies, and other tooling components as requiredIdentify and implement improvements to enhance production efficiency and reduce wasteAdhere to workplace health and safety regulations, ensuring the safe operation of all equipmentMaintain detailed records of machine performance, maintenance activities, and production outputWork with team members, including engineers and production staff, to optimize manufacturing processesRequirementsMinimum 2 years of relevant experience in a professional settingMinimum 2 years of proficiency in operating and maintaining plastic manufacturing equipmentMinimum 2 years of familiarity with recycled plastic materials, their properties, and processing requirementsMinimum 2 years experience with moulds, dies, and other tooling components used in plastic productionAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
