The Export Sales & Marketing Engineer will be responsible for driving sales for the full product portfolio for the Capacitors and Filters Product Group in global markets outside of Australia and New Zealand, working with World Class Front End Sales Organisation, Sector Leads and BU Sales Organisation. They will drive and execute sales strategy to achieve budget sales targets and continued success of products and systems including new products/systems to the portfolio.
You will be able to assist colleagues across the business to deliver on portfolio sales objectives focused on identifying customers, building relationships, following appropriate sales process steps, and executing commercial negotiations. Ensuring handover of orders to operations is seamless and set up for success in executing the project resulting in customer satisfaction, testimonials and repeat business
Your responsibilities:
1. You will review of tenders and support the local sales organisation/customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions and in the preparation of offers. Provide technical support during the technical meeting, product presentations and negotiations and offers product/solution/service-related training.
2. You will prepare/support preparation of comprehensive quality technical/commercial offers based on customer specification requirements, Local Business Unit/feeder factory indications and Sales organization directives.
3. You must ensure the preparation of technical and financial aspects of the offer and costing models, indicating prices and trading conditions. Ensure the definition of items to be included in proposals.
4. You should support development and maintain detailed understanding of the transformers business strategy and market positioning, prepare various analyses as related to market segment, product, and competitors.
5. You must analyse customer needs and competitor offers through general market information and information provided by the sales organisation. Perform Win/lost proposal analysis, identify potential cause, and recommend future actions in cooperation with Sales/Local Business Unit to obtain better future results.
6. You should Participate in negotiations with customer on technical, contractual, and commercial content of the proposal. Provide information to the risk review process in accordance with Hitachi Energy policy and participates in the risk review assessment as needed.

Your background:
9. Degree qualifications in Engineering (electrical) or recognized equivalent.
10. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sales or Tendering Engineer
11. Strong commitment to safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.
12. A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies.
13. Deep knowledge and understanding to the electrical engineering industry.
14. Estimating and tendering experience (MS Excel based system)
15. Sales tools literacy and competent in using SFDC (preferable), MS Word, MS Excel
16. Good communication skills and assertive business acumen.
17. Able to collaborate within the broader business.
18. Strong technical knowledge of MV Power Quality.
19. Exceptional communication skills along with interpersonal and negotiation skills
20. Critical consulting skills in bid-no bid issues
21. Basic risk review experience
22. Time management, co-ordination, accuracy, attention to detail and performing in a pressure environment are necessary.
