About the role
As a result of continued growth and expansion, we are excited to offer this unique opportunity for a passionate and experienced Estimator/Project Administrator to join our dynamic in-house construction team. Working on projects nationwide, your days will be busy, varied, and challenging as this role is integral in estimating and managing construction costs ensuring projects run smoothly, efficiently, and to budget.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Read and interpret building plans and specifications to efficiently produce accurate estimates of materials.
* Obtain quotes and costings from suppliers and contractors ensuring alignment with specified materials and labour for budgeted works.
* Generate purchase orders with clear and accurate information.
* Negotiate and liaise with suppliers and contractors to achieve cost savings.
* Monitor costs during the construction phase.
* Ensure any discrepancies with quotations of projects are identified.
* Develop preliminary project costs in conjunction with Construction Manager.
* Schedule contractors/materials/equipment in accordance with Construction Project Plan to ensure readiness for works to be undertaken and completed within project timeframes.
* Manage and maintain asset register, including service, repair, and maintenance scheduling of machinery and equipment.

* Solid knowledge and understanding of building and construction.
* Estimating experience in commercial construction projects.
* Ability to interpret plans and specifications.
* Strong time management, planning, and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks meeting strict deadlines.
* Superior communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with the ability to relate to people at all levels.
* Strong administrative skills with a high level of attention to detail.
* Energy and passion with a can-do and team player work approach.
