About Us
The Right to Information Team is responsible for overseeing SafeWork NSW's statutory responsibilities under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act).
About the Role
The Right to Information Officer role is based in a high volume, fast-paced environment, facilitating the review and determination of applications made under the GIPA Act.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide professional customer service ensuring legal, policy and procedural requirements are understood, while meeting performance indicators and timeframes.
* Ensure that released material/information complies with relevant legislation while applying business policies, procedures and standards.
* Maintain accurate records to ensure current and relevant information is available.
Key Challenges:
* Ensuring currency and accuracy of information and resources while managing a high-volume workload and quality service delivery.
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures while working to tight timeframes.
* Meeting stakeholder needs while ensuring a firm understanding of what the customer wants versus what the legislation allows/states.
