Assistant Director Cyber Risks and AssessmentsTHE ROLE:Austrade is seeking a skilled and experienced analyst to join the Cyber Security and Risk team as the Assistant Director Cyber Risks and Assessments. This role will assist in the delivery of cyber security in Austrade, particularly in relation to governance, risk and compliance.DUTIES INCLUDE:Conducting comprehensive risk assessments for Information Communications Technology (ICT) services in an Australian government environment.Establishing policies, procedures and treatments to ensure preventative and recovery strategies are in place to minimise risks to Austrade ICT systems.Providing security-focused technical advice to the Director Cyber Security and Risk, and cyber security support for projects and other initiatives.Maintaining and managing registers and other assets for compliance reporting.Conducting independent research, analysis and reporting on security vulnerabilities in technical systems to determine the impact on Austrade’s global network.Engaging with internal stakeholders and vendor representatives to gather and synthesise information.Supervising and managing the small Cyber Risks and Assessments team.Contributing to the strategic direction of the agency through input to business planning.Taking responsibility for the achievement of own outcomes, monitoring progress and following through in order to deliver quality results.Contributing to service delivery and the achievement of desired outcomes, while upholding the Australian Public Service Values, Employment Principles and Code of Conduct and Work Health and Safety (WHS) principles.ELIGIBILITY:Australian citizenship – our successful candidate must be an Australian citizen.Security clearance – our successful candidate is required to hold, or have the ability to obtain, and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.CLOSING DATE:Applications close at 11.30PM, Wednesday, 23 April 2025 (AEST)Given our commitment to diversity and inclusion, Austrade actively encourages applications from people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ people, women, and people with diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds for all of our roles.
