provides 24/7 emergency retrieval services by both road and helicopter.The Emergency Department, which is ACEM accredited, is divided into adult and paediatric areas and is the obstetric trauma centre for South Australia and has a designated state trauma centre.The Intensive and Critical Care Unit has 32 beds, and the Acute Medical Unit is located alongside the Emergency Department.Medical Specialist services include General Medicine, Acute Medical, Cardiology, Oncology, Neurology and Stroke, Geriatrics and Palliative Care.Surgical Specialist services include Cardio-Thoracic, Colorectal, Emergency, General & Gastrointestinal Surgery, General Surgery (Berri), Hepato Pancreato Biliary, Neurosurgery, Oesophago-Gastric, Orthopaedic, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (ENT), Plastic Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery.THE POSITION Our client is seeking experienced General Medicine Registrars to join their Division of Medicine, Cardiac, and Critical Services.Successful applicants will provide clinical services of the highest possible standard to medicine patients of the Health Network by contributing to a multi-disciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care.This opportunity is suited to experienced Medical Practitioners of PGY6+.The exciting opportunity will involve rotations through General Medical Units and the Acute Medical Unit (AMU).Acute Medical Unit The AMU Service is rostered 24/7.Works closely with the Emergency Consultant and the Emergency Registrar.The Acute Medical Unit and Emergency Registrar works with the Acute Medical Unit Senior Registrar and the team to assess and transfer Acute Medical Unit patients to the AMU or the long stay teams.Will assess patients who have had the MR10 raised (during 3hrs ED workup).Identifies potential Acute Medical Unit short stay/ long stay patients.Works closely with the Acute Medical Unit Consultants and junior team.Works closely with the Long Stay Consultants and Registrars along with their junior teams.Triage readmits to the appropriate long stay teams.All medical and aged patients will be assessed in the usual manner.Active involvement in teaching medical students.Sub-specialty reviews are undertaken when rostered on for consults.Long Stay Units Works with the Long Stay Ward Consultant.Works closely with the Acute Medical Unit Registrar.Is responsible for leading the junior TMO's in their team in assessing and caring for allocated patients.Works closely with the Ward's nursing staff.Triage patient readmits.Active involvement in teaching medical students and junior medical staff.Conduct research and clinical audits as required.Sub-specialty reviews are undertaken when rostered on for consults.Is available for after-hours mental health consultations.THE LOCATION
