The role
We are seeking high performing Engineers - Maritime Systems or experienced Maritime Technicians to join our dynamic D&NS team in Sydney .
In these roles, you will contribute to Defence operational capability through the provision of engineering support services to our Defence clients.
Key requirements of the roles include:
1. Working within a project team to deliver maritime capability related projects.
2. Building and maintaining effective client and stakeholder relationships.
3. Be a subject matter expert relating to the Defence maritime systems processes.
4. Ability to lead, manage and deliver Defence maritime projects.
5. Understand and translate client engineering requirements into project deliverables.
6. Provide sound advice and solutions to dynamic and complex issues.
7. Ensure compliance with Defence writing standards and documentation requirements.
About you
You will possess knowledge and experience in the maintenance of Australian Navy ships and Navy engineering practices and preferably have the eligibility to hold engineering delegations.
You will have a commitment to working towards solving problems for our clients. Furthermore, you will thrive on challenges and be team-oriented with strong organisational and communication skills and the ability to apply proactive and critical thinking whilst developing your consulting career. What is important is that you will bring a tenacious attitude and have alignment with our company purpose to “Make Everyday Better”.
Required capabilities:
1. Previous project experience within the Defence environment, with an understanding of engineering Defence maritime requirements and processes.
2. Possess relevant qualifications in engineering (electrical, mechanical, systems) with the ability to gain appropriate industry accreditation.
3. Due to the nature of our client and projects, it is mandatory that you hold (or will be able to obtain) a current Australian Government security clearance (AGSVA) at Baseline level or higher and be eligible to access information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
