In this role, you'll:
Have the opportunity to join our Greater Sydney, Customer Journey Communications Team as a Senior Transport Information Manager on a temporary full-time basis for 12 months.
This role will see you manage all aspects of front-line information dissemination with relevant stakeholders relating to unplanned incidents, planned events and road occupancies.
You will also work to ensure timely, relevant and detailed customer information is communicated to the public through appropriate channels, including leading and coordinating all operational communications during a crisis, and leading a team to deliver outcomes for our customer.
Here you will have the opportunity to lead a multi-disciplinary team, including developing and mentoring team members, managing performance, driving change, working constructively with others in a dynamic and changing environment. You will develop customer communications strategies to improve customer information by working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, and deliver strong media management for planned and unplanned incidents through strategic messaging across all channels.
This is a temporary, full time position for 12 months, located at our Transport Management Centre in Eveleigh, NSW. This a 24/7 operations centre, and it is therefore a requirement of the role that you work rostered, rotating shifts that include weekends. Penalty rates, overtime and additional annual leave will be paid in accordance with the Transport Award.

About you
You will have demonstrated experience in an operational and hands on communications environment. You are a strategic thinker but equally able to convert complex operational information during major incidents and major events into information for the public, key stakeholders and executive briefings.
This is a challenging, high pressured yet rewarding role where you will be required to think on your feet and make decisions within a live 24/7 operations centre environment. You are a leader that empowers your team and develops capability, whist leading from the front.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as communications and / or relevant industry experience in emergency services is ideal, along with the ability to identify issues with a high risk or potential public exposure and provide a managed response. Ideally you will be familiar with available technologies such as film, radio, and content management systems.
