Payroll Project Lead
* 6-12 month contract with likely extensions

The Role
We are seeking a Payroll Project Lead to work on multiple projects including implementing timecard modules and automating onboarding processes. You will also be responsible for leading payroll and HR system implantations, creating project plans which also includes risk management.
The role includes:
1. Project Management:
* Lead payroll/ HR system implementations, upgrades, or improvements.
* Create project plans, define scope, timelines, and deliverables.
* Monitor progress and ensure projects are delivered on time and meeting deadlines and standards
* Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders on time.
Team Leadership:
* Review work completed by project analysts.
* Delegate tasks and responsibilities while providing guidance and support.
* Collaborate with HR, finance, and IT teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Process Improvement:
* Analyze current payroll processes and gap analysis.
* Implement best practices and drive efficiency in payroll operations.
* Ensure compliance with legal, tax, and audit requirements.
Stakeholder Communication:
* Act as the primary point of contact between the project team and other departments.
* Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to ensure clear communication and manage expectations.
Risk Management:
* Identify potential risks to payroll projects and develop mitigation strategies.
* Data validation, review payroll imports files
* Conduct system tests to identify issues and ensure functionality before going live.
* Ensure that all payroll processes adhere to relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
Training and Development:
* Facilitate training sessions for team members on new payroll systems and procedures.
* Ensure ongoing development and knowledge-sharing within the team.
Key Skills Required:
1. Project Management Expertise:
* Proven experience managing large-scale payroll projects from start to finish.
Payroll Knowledge:
* In-depth understanding of payroll systems, procedures, and compliance requirements.
* Preferred Experience with payroll software (ConnX, Micropay)
Leadership and Communication Skills:
* Ability to lead a project and communicate effectively across departments.
* Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
Analytical Skills:
* Ability to analyze complex payroll data and processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Attention to Detail:
* Meticulous attention to detail, particularly regarding compliance, payroll calculations, and data accuracy.
