With the recent introduction of automation, we are positioned for a transformational growth period.Position Overview:The Business Development and Partnerships Manager will play a critical role in driving Williams Logistics' growth strategy by acquiring new clients, building relationships with transport providers, and forming strategic partnerships. A key focus of this role is strengthening our partnerships with transport companies, optimizing freight rates, and expanding the range of activities we offer. The Director will collaborate with internal teams to ensure our offerings remain competitive, efficient, and aligned with industry trends.Key Responsibilities:Business Development:Identify and pursue new business opportunities in line with company goals.Develop and implement strategies to acquire new clients in target industries, focusing on expanding freight and transport services.Present Williams Logistics' full capabilities, including automation, sustainable practices, and competitive freight options.Transport Partnerships and Freight Optimization:Build and strengthen relationships with key transport companies to secure competitive freight rates.Negotiate and manage partnerships to ensure the best possible pricing and service levels.Identify opportunities to enhance transport-related activities, such as streamlining delivery services or offering specialized freight solutions.Strategic Partnerships:Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, clients, and complementary businesses to create synergies.Negotiate partnership agreements that drive long-term value for freight and logistics services.Market Research and Analysis:Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitive positioning, and new business opportunities related to transport and freight services.Provide insights and recommendations to the executive team on strategic initiatives and market entry tactics.Sales Strategy and Execution:Develop and execute sales strategies that align with the company’s growth and freight optimization goals.Collaborate with the Senior Account Manager to ensure that business development efforts and freight offerings align with client needs.Collaboration with Internal Teams:Work closely with operations, logistics, and account management teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients and efficient delivery of freight services.Support the Senior Account Manager on high-level client relationships where strategic partnerships are involved.Responsibilities Regarding Contracts:Contract Negotiation and Review:The Director would be responsible for reviewing and negotiating terms with new clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements, often in collaboration with legal teams.Onboarding Support:While the Director may not handle day-to-day onboarding logistics, they would ensure that the contract terms and client expectations are clear, supporting the operations team in setting up services efficiently.Qualifications and Experience:Proven experience in business development or sales leadership roles, ideally within logistics, supply chain, or transport industries.Demonstrated success in building partnerships with transport companies and optimizing freight rates.Strong understanding of the 3PL landscape, including freight services and transport operations.Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.Ability to think strategically and drive results in a fast-paced, changing environment.Preferred:Familiarity with B Corp certification and sustainability initiatives.Experience in managing or supporting organizational transformations, including automation or technology-driven changes.Application Process:Forward all applications to Lance Rickards, HR Manager, Williams Warehousing & Logistics Services.
