About the Role
Occulus International is seeking exceptional leaders on behalf of Solvay. As the Site Manager at their Banksmeadow plant, you will lead a team of 30 dedicated professionals in the Peroxides department, showcasing strong leadership and outstanding Occupational Health and Safety competence.
You will oversee and coordinate all plant activities, ensuring the efficient production of H2O2 while championing top-tier safety standards and initiatives.
As part of Solvay’s leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving initiatives across Australia by implementing their people strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and enhancing the organisational culture.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and exceptional people management skills, demonstrating a mindset geared towards change management and a strong orientation towards safety and compliance.
Joining an experienced team onsite, you will collaborate with global stakeholders and play a pivotal role in building a culture of excellence and safety at the site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the site’s HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) performance meets the highest standards.
* Budget Planning and Allocation: Develop and manage the Capex budget to align with strategic objectives.
* Assess Capex projects, including feasibility and cost estimates.
* Collaborate with senior management for project approvals.
* Monitor Capex spending to stay within budget and achieve financial targets.
* Track and report expenditures regularly to senior management.
* Cost Control and Optimisation: Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
* Implement measures to control costs and use funds effectively.
* Manage vendor and contractor selection for Capex projects.
* Negotiate contracts and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Ensure Capex projects meet regulatory and safety standards.
* Prepare and present reports on project performance and financial outcomes.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with Capex projects.
* Address issues and challenges during project execution.
* Implement the sustainability and digital roadmap.
* Maintain compliance with site permits.
* Ensure a seamless onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and integration into the team.
* Training: Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for new and existing staff.
* Identify training needs and assess the effectiveness of training programs.
* Coordinate with external training providers and ensure compliance with industry standards.
* Development: Create and manage career development plans for site staff.
* Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to support employees’ professional growth.
* Evaluate employee performance, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for advancement.
* Handle country management responsibilities for Australia
About You
* A degree in chemical engineering or equivalent.
* At least 5 years of senior-level leadership experience.
* Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and safety procedures.
* Relevant industrial experience, particularly with HSE and risk management in an industrial setting.
* Experience with H2O2 handling and utility production.
* Experience in a plant or production environment
