This role supports the RSEL Boards and Chief Member Officer in the oversight and monitoring of the implementation of the Trustee's strategy and key initiatives. This includes the impact on member outcomes from the investment, insurance and advice related offers to members across master trust and wrap platforms. The primary purpose of the Member Office is to advocate for the best interests of the members and support the Insignia Superannuation Trustees to meet their fiduciary and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the delivery of the RSE's strategic initiatives with respect to investments, insurance and advice. Accountable for the relationship with external advisors to the Trustees (investment and insurance support to Board Committees) including management of the quality of services provided. Provide holistic insights and reporting to the RSEL Boards on the exposure to, and performance of, service providers with respect to investments, insurance and advice. Enhance operational efficiency to improve member experience and/or support the RSEL Boards. Safeguard that actions and decisions are properly assessed as fair across or within member classes and monitor with other functions. Business lead, in conjunction with legal, in related party contract negotiations on behalf of the RSEL contracting entities for relevant contracts. Contribute to the quarterly and annual assessment of Service Providers including oversight and challenge of Service Provider delivery. Advocate the fiduciary role of the RSELs inside Insignia, acting in the interest of members and being an independent advocate for the RSEL Directors in the management and identification of conflicts of interest. Strong executive communication, presentation and influencing skills. Ability to navigate environments undergoing significant change. Strong relationship building, problem solving and negotiation skills. Proven experience in managing a team in the delivery of a range of professional services. Ability to coach and mentor staff with a focus on stakeholder engagement and influencing skills. Minimum 5+ years of investments, insurance or advice governance experience. Strong technical and commercial skills to manage and collaborate with diverse executive and senior management stakeholders. Experience in financial services/ superannuation/ wealth / investment industry. Deep technical knowledge and demonstrated experience covering governance in investments, insurance or advice. In-depth knowledge, experience and skills working in the superannuation business and familiarity of superannuation law, including the SIS Act, Corporations Act, APRA and ASIC prudential standards and guidance (as relevant), and the superannuation regulatory environment.
