The successful candidate will have experience authoring documentation that supports effective data governance, including policies, procedures, data dictionaries, guides, and work instructions.The Principal Officer works closely with the Manager, Data Strategy & Management, and key stakeholders to drive improvements to systems, data architecture and data quality to enhance HIQ's reporting and analytics capability. The Principal Officer supports the Data Engineer by capturing, managing, and communicating business requirements and technical change.The successful personTo be successful in the role, you will possess a combination of strong project management and communication skills, while having the technical ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions that will be implemented in collaboration with the Data Engineer and our IT partners. Specifically, we are looking for the following skillsets:Leadership and organisationDemonstrated leadership and project management skills, with the ability to provide technical leadership when engaging with internal and external stakeholders and providers. Ability to quickly understand and document our customers' data needs, and to present briefings and information sessions to our stakeholders to keep them informed about our work.Problem solving and continuous improvementExperience in critically reviewing, developing and coordinating enhancements to end-to-end IT solutions – including applications, databases, data pipelines, data layers and reporting services – to drive efficiency and effectiveness through streamlined data capture and storage, automation, integration and optimisation.Technical experienceAbility to effectively manage the delivery of complex data solutions in a DevOps environment. Experience using Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks and Power BI Service to help build prototypes and production solutions. Familiarity with SharePoint, Power Apps and Power Automate.Resilience and flexibilityAbility to react positively to emerging priorities and remain calm and constructive when presented with a challenge.
