You will be responsible for all aspects of running your section properly in a fast-paced, stressful environment. You will be part of a tight-knit team and will excel at providing exceptional attention to detail.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
* Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality.
* Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.
* Covering all aspects of prepping a section and executing service in that section.
* Preparing, cooking, and seasoning food.
* Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements.
* Assisting in planning menus and estimating food requirements.
* Train other kitchen staff and apprentices, if and as required.
You will have at least a relevant Certificate III with at least two years of on-the-job training, or a relevant Certificate IV, or at least three (3) years of equivalent experience in lieu of formal qualifications. You should also have at least one year of experience preferably working in a similar high-end restaurant environment, equivalent experience will also be strongly considered.
In addition to the above essential experience and qualifications, and due to the nature of the restaurant and requirements of the role, our ideal candidate should also demonstrate proficiency and have experience in cooking with a woodfired oven, fermenting of vinegars and kombuchas, and preparing and baking sourdough breads.
